The best way to beat the heat! 8/2/2012
One of Dad's favorite activities with the kids in the summer is to hit the pool. The boys are little fish. I am amazed at how well they do kicking around and the tricks they bust out too make my heart stop... I mean they are great! Jillian is more of a sun bather... she gets a little wet to cool off and then is content to hang out pool side. Sometimes I wonder if she is really mine... then she will have a complete melt down about having a wrinkle in her sock and I know there is part of me in her somewhere :)
One of our afternoon trips I remembered my camera to capture some of our summer fun. Colton is doing a back flip into the pool (he is 5) and Jace is doing a cannon ball (he is 3). I am in awe of these little guys.

Lego Challenge 2012
At The Lego Store we had picked up some magazines along with some Lego sets (I think those were mostly for Brian). The magazines had some comics and stories and on the back there was a contest to build your favorite summer fruit. Colton LOVES watermelon so we were on a hunt for red Lego's. We didn't have enough so we borrowed some from his friend Carson. He did a great job with his watermelon. Jillian made a grape and Jace just played. Jace wasn't as interested in the contest as the other two. We submitted our entries and we got a postcard back. The postcard said thanks for the great creations and to watch for the upcoming magazine to announce the winners. Good Luck Jillian and Colton!
Zoo Fun Run 7/31/12
The last weekend in July was reserved for a Softball Tournament with some friends. I knew that but I was hoping I could still fit this in... Ever since Colton was 18 months old he has loved running. Many people remember him in his footy jammies at a football party running laps around Coach Brocks pool. I try to foster that love (although I am not as sure he loves it as much now) but anyways that is what a mom is suppose to do. I saw this fun run in the zoo and I knew he would love it. I was hopeful we could make both events work!
As it turned out they needed me in the Tournament but we had enough boys to spare Brian so after a chat with my little muskateers Jillian decided she wanted to stay with Mom and both the boys wanted to be in the race. It was so hard to miss but so fun to hear about it. It was wild and crazy and not well organized. Jace followed the bunny all the way through and Colton started at the back of the pack and passed everyone except for one girl and one boy. So Jace thought he won and Colton said he got third. I was just proud of all my boys!! Even the big one. He worked extra hard to get the boys there and be at the finish line and take the necessary pictures to make Mom happy! (I do have criteria for events I can't make) I am one lucky lady!
Ready to race.
